Hi, I'm kinda new to laptop and looking to buy this low budget one,
Model : Lenovo V15 G3 ABA 82TV0086TA
It comes with 8GB of DDR4-3200 RAM soldered on-board,
and also with 1 free SODIMM slot for upgradability.

So, I'm wondering if I'll be able to add a single 16GB DDR4-3200 module
into that 1 SODIMM slot, for a desired effect of 24GB total memory perhaps?
If that is possible, in what configuration would it likely be run in? (i.e. single/dual channel)
Ideally I would like to have the memory running in dual channel mode of course,
I'm wondering what about my options here. What would be the most likely setup for the dual channel configuration? (say 8+8GB?)
(the documentation from Lenovo says dual channel capable regarding the memory but doesn't say anything specific other than that)

One other thing, about the memory module (DDR4-SODIMM),
There are options for DDR4-3200 CL18 at 1.35V,
and DDR4-3200 CL20/22 at 1.2V, similarly priced.
Is the 1.35V DDR4-SODIMM likely to work on this laptop?
Or, would it be better to stick with 1.2V just to be safe?

If it's not possible to answer the questions for my specific case then perhaps generalize it,
Please give me some info on how the memory/upgrade works on laptop in general etc. etc.
I shall await your reply, and if there's any further discussion to be had please do,
Thank you very much.

The max supported ram is 16GB. You can only drop in any stick of 8GB DDR4-3200Mhz, though not more than that since you can and will experience instability. Hover over the i - icon next to Max Memory and the info will show up.

and DDR4-3200 CL20/22 at 1.2V, similarly priced.

The 1.35v stick of ram has a slightly tighter latency. I would pick that over the 1.2v stick of ram.

Thanks for replying - is there a case where a 1.35V SODIMM is unsupported by a laptop? Resulting in no-boot or instability and such. I'm worrying about potential compatibility issues.
