My motherboard I'm using right now is an ASROCK B550M-C. It has a Hyper m.2 gen 4 slot and an m.2 gen 3 slot.
I have in the hyper slot a gen 3 WD Blue 500gb nvme. I have received for christmas a gen 4 WD Black SN850x 2tb nvme.
My OS and everything else are on the 500gb. I was curious if it will be as easy as moving the gen 3 to the 2nd slot (the gen 3 slot) and adding my new gen 4 into the hyper m.2 slot.
Will the OS still boot if it's in a different slot or will I need to boot into bios to change the boot location?
My plan was to keep the OS on the 500gb and move files/games over to the 2tb and keep the 500 as a kind of overflow if ever needed.
So basically the question is if it is as simple as moving the nvme I have to a new slot or if I will need to change the boot location in bios.
