Question QVL Question

I recently purchased the ASUS TUF X870-PLUS motherboard, but its QVL (Qualified Vendors List) is quite limited. The only brand listed for speeds of 7000 MHz and above is G.Skill.

I recently bought a Corsair Dominator Titanium RGB DDR5 2x24GB kit (CMP48GX5M2X7200C36), which isn't on the QVL for this motherboard. However, it is listed on the QVL for another ASUS AM5 motherboard, the Strix B650E-F.

Do you think it will be safe to proceed with this Corsair memory kit, or should I consider alternatives?

For reference, the CPU I'm using is the 9800X3D.

But haven't tested it?

Or has it not arrived yet?

I'd certainly at least test it if you've already laid down the money. Pretty good chance it would work......at what speed remains to be determined.

QVL lists are notoriously short and out of date, there are many more RAM producers that those for MBs. Most RAM manufactures have own QVL lists tested on more motherboards so you can check them too. In addition, MB manufacturers also update their BIOS without updating QVL. so situation changes.
In practical terms that means using QVL just as a guide for upper limits (OC) as all will work at base speed. Memory controller is in CPU and BIOS governs how it is used with automatic OC using either XMP or EXPO settings but all must conform to JEDEC standards.MB itself provides just physical connection to CPU.
Each processor has limit on it's IMC (Internal Memory Controller) and any frequency above means it's overclocking. That may depend on it's architecture and even "Silicon lottery". Due to so many veriables, it'sparactically only "Try and see. No manuafacturer guarantees any OC and even discourage it by thretening to invalidate warranty although they are not shy to declare it's possibility.
