I want to know what is the difference between the R9 290 and the R9 290X.

Do they differ in performance?
Do they differ in the GPU chip used?
Do they differ in the GPU chip quality?
Do they differ in noise?
Do they differ in temp?
Power consumption?
etc.

Do they differ in the GPU chip quality? - Same quality
Do they differ in noise? - No
Do they differ in temp? - Little bit
Power consumption? - No

Actually the 290 has a cut-down version of the same GPU, and may have lower quality (since it's binned lower).
