Question R9 390 drivers crashing ?

i recently just bought a used XFX R9 390 GPU off of ebay. i was trying to install drivers off the amd website and when i was going through with it, my screen turned black and rebooted itself. i was able to see the splash logo screen and was able to go into bios but beyond that, it stays as a black screen instead of the Windows login? I tested the GPU, it works without any drivers installed but as soon as I install them it has that issue.

Then the GPU driver chip is bad. Essentially, entire GPU is toast.

Return the used GPU and buy brand new instead. Since with new, you get warranty + doesn't have to deal with someone else's junk.

You can try looking for community drivers. That card is no longer officially supported, but there are community drivers available if you look for it.

You could also try reflashing the firmware, it could be it was used for mining and it's not running with stock firmware.

R9 390 is horrible on power consumption, low on features, and performance. It was high end in it's day, but it's day is past. If you bought a used RX 5600 XT, you would have been better off.
