Radeon 7500 + Asus A7A266MB = no power?

I have an AGP Radeon 7500 card with an Asus A7A266 MB. Recently, my
the fan started making a lot of noise, so I replaced the heatsink &
fan on the MB. When I turned the PC back on, the power supply would
not come on ... all I got was a green light on the motherboard.
Thinking I had fried the power supply, I went out and bought a new
case (because I kind of wanted a new case anyway - old one was a POS).
When I hooked everything up and turned it on, same thing - green
light, no power supply action at all.
So I took the machine to a computer shop because I was tired of
dicking with it. Guy called back and said the video card was
incompatible with the motherboard (wrong AGP type and pin layout). He
said when he plugged in a PCI card, it came right up. This seems
strange to me since the card has been working great for the past two
years!! So, what gives?? I KNOW this card works with the A7A266, so
what do I need to change?

dumb question:

did you take the radeon card out and reseat it?

Actually, now that I've got it home, when I plug in the card and turn
on the PC, I've got power, but nothing on the screen, and no beep from
the PC. When I plug in an older AGP card, everything works. Maybe the
video card is fried ?
