Radeon 9700 PRO AiW

I just built a new system:
2700+
Asus A7N8X delux
2 Geil 3200 256MB ram
2 80GB HD
Dragon case, 450watt psu
Radeon 9700PRO Aiw

and in 3d apps, aka games, it crashes ALOT, usualy just drops back to desktop with an error, but sometimes locks up and or reboots. I have all win xp patches, newest bios, dx9, newest drivers for all, any ideas why the radeon crashes soo much? much thanks

First of all do you know for sure it,s the card thats causeing all the problems,did you try a diff card to see if the system still locked up.It could be the AMD chip,MB or all the above.Hell sounds cards can cause problem also.BTW are you useing on board sound ??.
