Hello,

I'm just curious as to what the extra 1gb will accomplish. I've read many reviews and performance wise both the 1gb and 2gb versions of the HD 6950 are the same..so convince me as to why i should buy the 2gb version. Furthermore, should I consider the gtx 560ti? thanks..

Well, the 2gb version is for multi-monitors. If you play a with one monitor, 1gb should be fine, unless you are playing metro 2033, or games like that. The GTX 560 ti is great too. What games do you play? What is your set up? PSU, CPU, MB, RAM, etc.

The 2gb card is better for multiple displays at high resolutions. On a single 1080p monitor it wont make a difference, however on three 1080p monitors, the 2gb card will benefit more

ohh.....i c... i just have one 22inch monitor, and I think i'll be sticking with it for the rest of my student life.. :hello: mostly fps games... i'm planning to build a set-up, but i'm stuck in a dilemma between the gtx 560ti and HD 6950...although the 560 ti is like 30 pounds cheaper...

What resolution, and what is your computer's components? What do you plan to put in it? Also, the GTX 560 ti is generally better, that is why I asked what games you play. I would grab the GTX 560 ti if it is that much cheaper.

its around 1920x1200...and i'm plannin to get the Core i5-2500, complementing it with the Asus P8P67 motherboard...with around 16 gigs of ram.....

560 is also faster at resolutions up to 1920 x 1200.... the factory OC'd versions oft cost same as reference models.
