Hi I've had my Radeon HD 7970 for a while now and the FPS is not too great even with the new AMD drivers
I am going to list FPS of some games and please tell me if that's alright for the GPU, Also I will Post my specs to make sure nothing is bottle necking.

*BF3 - High setting - 55FPS avg - 40ish in big battles
*Farcry 3 High Settings 50FPS avg
*DayZ High settings 45FPS avg

**Motherboard - Asus M5A88V-evo
**CPU - AMD FX 6200 Six core 3.8Ghz
**GPU - VisionTek Radeon HD 7970 3GB
**PSU - NZXT HALE90 750W 80+ GOLD
**RAM - Corsair Vengeance(Black) - 16GB
**Sound Card - Creative XFI Titanium

*GPU Drivers - Catalyst 12.11 beta11 - Application Profiles 12.11Cap2
*OS - Windows 8 Pro 64bit

Solution
That seems normal. Although your cpu is the bottleneck here. Consider overclocking your cpu to get better framerates. 4.2-4.4GHz should be easy enough for FX cpus.
ok I will try that I do have the CM V8 Heatsink so the temperature should be fine

wow. i overclocked my CPU to 4.3GHz and everything was better! bf3 ran at 70FPS Avg and Farcry 3 was at 80FPS avg. Thanks man
