Hi

I am about rebuild my PC with a new disk setup in a new big case. I have the GA-EX58-UD4P rev 1.0 with a i7-920, 24 GB RAM.
At the moment I have 2 x 1.5 TB SATA 3GB/s Seagate 7200.11 HHDs (not RAID).
I want to make a new system with the following setup:
1. SSD (Corsair 240 GB) Drive C: system/apps
2. 2 x 1.5 TB WD Caviar black SATA 6GB/s - RAID0 - Drive D: DATA (and pagefile?)
3. 2 x 1.5 TB Seagate 7200.11 (the old HDDs) - RAID0(?) - Drive E: backup/data.

Is this possible - having a SSD with system (not raid) and then 2 x 1.5 in RAID0 + 2 x 1.5 in RAID0? Can I use the onboard RAID controller on the GA-EX58-UD4P or will I have have to buy a new controller? Ialso have a DVD-drive. Ican see there is 6 SATA ports on the MOBO.

I mainly use the PC for videoeditting (thats why I need the RAID0 for speed) and do not have any recent experience building RAID setups (only bad experiences from last century ;-) ).

:)

Just set the ICH10R in RAID mode. The SSD and the DVD won't be members of a RAID while the hard disks will be members of two separate RAID 0. You hopefully have an external backup solution because internal backups are not very useful if the system gets stolen or destroyed.
