As written above, I can't get ram slot A1 and A2 to work in a new build I helped my friend build. The PC fully works using B1 and B2. (I have built several PC's before, with no issue, so I am somewhat experienced)

The motherboard is TUF B560M- Plus.

I have tried reseating the CPU and the cooler, and I don't think its due to the pressure applied, unless the backplate can cause it as well? (Seems like the only option here)
I have checked for bend pins, but as far as I can tell, there are none. But I might be mistaken, I have a poorly taken picture, will try update it on Sunday if that might help.

Something that strikes as really odd, is it seems like there is missing pins, but I'm not sure I'm correct in my assumption.

Here are the images. If you look at the left side, (Which is the bottom) it looks like there are a complete line of pins missing? I tried to compare it to the image from Asus site, and there they are definitely there. (But is that just a render, or an actual image of the product?)

I feel like I've tried the most obvious causes to no luck, and I'm kind of out of ideas at this point, hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction.

In advance, thank you for your time!

This motherboard?

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...-PLUS/E17586_TUF_GAMING_B560M-PLUS_UM_web.pdf

(Verify that I correctly identified the applicable User Manual.)

Refer to the User Manual to verify that components are correctly installed and connected. Go page by page in a "checklist" manner.

Pay close attention to fine print, footnotes, warnings, and references to other documents/website locations.

Memory

Supported memory is listed on Page vi. Verify that your RAM modules are supported. Be sure to check the QVL as recommended on the page.

Also Reference Section 1.4, beginning on physically numbered Page 1-9

Dual channel? Double check the RAM slots being used.

As I understand your post the RAM modules may not be correctly installed.

DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 perhaps.....

DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 perhaps.....

Thanks for your reply!

I originally did A2 & B2, but I got a yellow LED error, I proceeded to try A1 & B1, same thing. I then started testing each individuel slot with a single stick of ram, and only got green/white on B1 and B2. I then proceeded to do the same thing with the 2nd stick of ram, still no life in A1 and A2, but B 1 & 2 still worked. I therefore suspect that A1 & A2 are possibly dead. Based on quick internet research, people seemed to think that it is mainly due to wrongly mounted/Pressured CPU, so it lacks contact with the pinks, or the pins are bent. I tried to re-seat cooler and cpu, and it did not help. As far as I can tell, pins are not bend, but I might be mistaken.

I'll try take a look at it again Sunday. That is also why I started wondering if pins were missing, as the bottom looks very empty to me on the picture. That said, I'll need a better picture to make sure I'm right or wrong, or whether a pin is bend or not.

Quick edit, yes, that is the right manual for the motherboard.

2nd quick edit. The ram is on the QVL, also, it was a bundle, ram, cpu mobo together. (Also, the PC can boot using B1 and B2, it just gives yellow LED if A1 or A2 is used, even if its A1 & B1 and A2 & B2.

Hello there ! :)

Have you verified, that the sticks used are on QVL here ----> https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-C...ng/TUF-GAMING-B560M-PLUS/HelpDesk_QVL_Memory/

If yes, try to reseat them as listed there - hope that helps :)

Thanks for you answer.

The ram is listed in the QVL. (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 to be specific), with socket support for 1,2. I have already tried to reseat them multiply time, along side the cpu. They do function, but only in ram slot B1 and B2. There is an orange/Amber LED flash when using A1 or A2, and we can't get to BIOS.

Quick update. Found the issue. A screw from the cpu cooler shorted a circuit, which is what killed A1 and A2. After having put on plastic thingies to create space, the pc now works as intended.

Hi there. Could you circle "the problematic place" on the MOBO referring to the pictures above? There is a chance I have the same problem and idk how to fix it :(
