If you want a good 16GB that will pretty much last until your processor is no longer any good.

This for 8 GB, slightly cheaper but definitely all that you really need at this point.

And let the Corsair vs. G Skill debate commence. I prefer the G Skill, but those are the good options.

well... it's all pretty much the same, I would generally match what you already have if you have slots to fill. If you are buying a whole new set then just fill it with 4GB sticks of your manufacturer of choice. 1333 for normal people 1600 for Overclockers. Faster Ram makes little to no difference in the DDR3 world, with the minor exception of that if you dont have enough then you need more to avoid HDD caching.

Ram is cheap, so fill up!

Sorry I pretty much hit enter too fast. Anything any higher than 1600 isn't worth it for your processor unless your planning on some higher overclock. Also, the timings are pretty tight (9-9-9-24) and is at a decent voltage level (1.5V)

I am possibly looking to overclock my rig further, possibly to 4GHZ+, so RAM to accommodate that would be usefull. (sorry, probably should have mentione that 1st)

It seems G.SKILL is the prefered option amongst you lot, looks bloody good too. I think I will go with 1600, its better for overclocking but which, Vengeance, Sniper, Ripjaws????

I have had horrible luck with overclocking and G.SKILL ram. My 24G kit wouldn't even run at 1600MHz. It would max out at 1595MHz no matter what you did. If you dropped the ram down to 12G then you could get 1603MHz. This was after having to send them memory in for a replacement twice.

It is DDR3 Ram, Which means your Motherboard can support it. Currently I am getting ready to O.C. my processor, with the help of my friend of course. But I am using a pair for Ripjaws that were labelled @1600 mhz @1.5 V. All I had to do was up the voltage to 1.6V and I got them running @ 1866. Obviously you can select any number inbetween, but 1866 just seemed like a good finish line. No fans required, the heatsinks do the job well. I have had it crash only once on me, and I have had the system since late Summer. G Skill works fine for me, but I have nothing against Corsair either. At my workplace we use custom built machines, which I have all built myself, and it is company policy to use Corsair Ram. We buy vengeance but we never OC or nothing, its more of a quantity of RAM rather than its speed. In any case, you can find a pair of Vengeance with the same timings, clock speed and voltages that are identical to G Skill. I use G Skill, so I recommend it. OCing them was a snap. ahnilated clearly has had worse luck than I have with G Skill. All I can offer you are my personal experiences and regurgitate benchmarks from this website.
