Question Random Windows shutdowns ?

Hi, I have just built a new pc and have encountered a problem. When I connect my 144hz monitor to my 3070 and click on the keyboard to get to the "enter pin" screen my whole pc shuts down. however when I connect my 60hz monitor to it everything works completely fine. I can then also reconnect my 144hz monitor to my gpu and it will work fine until the pc is turned off and back on and I try to get to the "enter pin" screen. I also put my old 2060 into my new pc and everything works as normal there so i think either my gpus has something wrong with it even thought it can display it on the 144hz monitor or my psu isnt big enough to facilitate the 3070. If anyone has any suggestions on what to do that would be greatly appreciated.

My pc specs are
Corsair vengeance ddr5 6000mbs 2x16 32gb
Ryzen 5 7500f
3070 msi suprim x
gigabyte p750gm
gigabyte b650 eagle ax
crucial p3 1tb
thermalright frozen notte 360

more likely compatibility issue
have a look in the event viewer at the time the pc shuts down
try a different dp or hdmi cable
update bios
Was windows freshly installed with this new hardware?
power plugs all connected on both sides? MB, GPU and PSU?

Does the computer shut down or restart?

If it just restarting i would guess the GPU is tripping the over current protection on the PSU. The Nvidia 2000 and 3000 series cards had very bad transient power spikes that would trip the OCP on PSU's. I would replace it with this Corsair RM750e , its the newer speced ATX 3.0 which handles power spikes better then the older ATX 2.0.

Nope full shutdown. I have ordered the MSI MAG A850GL which also is ATX 3.0 and that arrives in a couple of hours.

this 3070 should have a switch on the side
while power is off, try switching to the other side. sometimes, the switch is not completely in the correct location.
I have just done some testing and im pretty sure it is a driver issue. I have just done a fresh install windows and everything was going well I shut down the pc multiple time and no problems. then i left it for about a minute allowing automatic gpu drivers to install, i shut down the pc and the problems started again. I then deleted my gpu drivers and it was fine again. I don't really know what to do now as i have already tried the latest driver version and use ddu so any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

most likely faulty GPU then, if the new psu didn't help
Yeah I was an idiot. My 24 pin connector splits into a 10 pin connector and a 18 pin connector and for some stupid reason I didn’t plug the 10 pin and only the 18 pin. Just wondering now if you think that would’ve caused any damage to anything else or should I be fine now.

was always interested what happens if this 10 pin connector won't be connected. thanks for the enlightening anyways 👍 shit happens, learn from it, go to the next project😊
besides data loss or corruption, which is unlikely while at the login screen, you are good to go.
