Archived from groups: alt.games.creatures (More info?)
So, I wrote a PRAY parsing library in python. Only took 15 minutes or so
to make a simple script work, so here's a couple of examples (these are
the only two files I have on the server right now).
http://stuff.ccdevnet.org/toys/prayviewer.py?filename=Shirta_003_rose_cqq6a_4hulw_285fq_2bk42.creature
http://stuff.ccdevnet.org/toys/prayviewer.py?filename=expressiveeggs.agents
I have some vague idea of having 'simple' web hosting for Creatures
people which allows them to just upload creatures/agents and this script
would take all the necessary information out.
For creatures: check for annoying genetic defects like fast aging, and
display the generation number, the world it came from, the creature
name, and photo(s)
For agents: check for any dependencies which aren't in the file (eg,
requiring C3 or a specific metaroom), and display the name, web url,
image etc.
But I'm not sure how useful it'd be. Thoughts? (This is probably really
the wrong place to ask this, but I'm too tired to faf around with forums)
