Does anyone know how I could tell if my Raspberry Pi 4B is faster or slower than my first gaming rig CPU AMD Athlon XP 2800+? I'm curious because that rig had 1GB RAM which was considered a lot back then and my RPi base model has 2GB. The SoC is a Broadcom BCM2711, Quad core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz. AFAIK it can be OCed to 2GHz.

I would say that your PI 4B would be faster as it is a quad-core (vs single-core Athlon XP). The instruction set is far newer and (hopefully) more optimized.

Just curious what you're using your RPi for. Mine's still in the box as I don't have a readily available USB Keyboard for the initial programming.

I have no clue yet. Prices are inflated so I got the base model with 2GB. I'm thinking either NAS with Time Machine capability or retro gaming with my PS4 controllers if possible. Just something to toy with.
