First your can use the included cooler. Only reason to change that is if the stock cooler is too loud.
Going with the B550 motherboard & no aftermarket cooler saves some money for changing to all SSD storage and a GPU upgrade.

It’s a great build. An idea if you have no more budget now is drop the cooler and use the stock cooler. You also don’t have to activate Windows so save on the license. This would allow you to go for a RTX2060. You can upgrade cooling and get a Windows license later.
Thanks. I've used the stock cooler for this chip before and don't like the temps unfortunately.

I know it’s not the best and it is noisy but it is capable of keeping the cpu with safe limits, just not ideal temps. The cooler upgrade will be quieter and will squeeze a little extra boost. However a gpu upgrade will give much more boost in FPS for that 144Hz.

However there is nothing wrong with your suggestion, I am just challenging it to give you something to consider.

So i made some adjustments to give you a bit of a better upgrade when it comes to your build. The Case i swapped for the version that has MESH on the front, i own a phanteks case and the front intakes are horrible i ended up ordering a mesh front panel and saw upwards of 7 degrees drop in my build. I changed the CPU Cooler to the RBG CM 212, i find they work really good which brings me to the next part. I went for the Deepcool 5 in 1 fans because well let's face who doesn't love some RGB and you're getting 3 more fans into your case for an extra $15. which you can add one of these fans to the other side of your CM 212 for a push pull set up. I swapped the board for the Tomahawk Maxas its a really good MOBO and added a Wifi adapter just because i'm sure you wanted wifi with it. Also the 2tb Seagate is a better choice DOuble the storage space for an extra $20. And kept the budget relatively close for better parts.

Thanks, appreciate this. With the RGB fans, do I need any splitters or any other equipment? The mobo only has 4x system fan headers and I'm not too sure how connecting up the RGB works. Any help would be appreciated :) thanks!

SO when you purchase the 5in1 fans they come with 2 splitters for extra fan connections. also the RGB just runs off the motherboard and the Mystic Light App. the fans will take the same colour you choose for your motherboard. Ill show you a picture of mine. I use the Tomahawk Max and i have 6 fans in total plus the CPU fan (so 7) running off the Motherboard View: https://imgur.com/a/PVLXZ8c

Thanks! So is there a separate RGB cable that goes into the motherboard? Would there be 1 RGB cable for each fan? Sorry just not worked with RGB fans before and not sure if I'd have enough RGB & PWM headers on the motherboard for 5 of those fans!

Yeah so the fans all connect to one another. There is 2 JRGB headers on the Motherboard (tomahawk max) one for the RGB for the CPU and another RGB connector for fans or whatever you like im just giving you what you do with the build i sent you. Again they still run off the same colour set up for the mobo. the wires for the RGB fans are pretty long and again they all connect to each other like a relay in a sense. Each has its own RGB wire which connects to another one, and so on and so on which connects to the MAIN RGB connector that plugs into the Motherboard. 1 RGB cable per fan, which then connects to another one allowing all fans to coloured. Then there is a set up for the Fan to be turned on. You can choose to fill up all the Fan Headers on the MOBO to allow for more PWM adjustments or connect them to the Fan HUB that comes with the 5in1 setup. The Two Fan HUB come with 1 PWM each to allow for functionality. THe FAN HUB also has adhesive on it to allow you to stick it to the hidden side panel of the case for better wire management the instructions for the set up are in the box too. if you decide to buy those fans.

Thank you. So just to clarify - my board has 4 fan headers and 2 RGB headers. With the Deepcool fans you suggested, will I be able to install these without a hitch or do I need to buy any splittters?

You will not need to be any splitters as the Box for the 5in1 comes with 2 Fan HUBS( splitters) included.

Keep in mind this is with the Tomahawk MAX board that i included with your build
