would you change anyting?
Yes.

DDR5-6000MHz AMD E.X.P.O advertised dual channel ram kit. I would look a higher pedigree board for your 7950x and pair said processor with a 360mm AIO instead of a 240mm. Add more M.2 storage, one which is smaller in capacity for the OS/apps and launchers and the larger drive can be for the game library.

Hey there,

It's a good build for sure. The 7950x3d is a little over the top for a pure gaming rig. The 7800x3d is as effective if not just a tad faster. But, if you need more cores, then ok.

I'd change the cooler out. 240 is a little weak for what is a hot runnign CPU. You prob need to consider a 360 AIO to keep temps in check a little more.

Ram is too slow. Get faster ram. 6000mhz is advised by AMD as the sweet spot so the mem controller/mem clock controller, and infinity fabric controller are in a 1:1 ratio which reduces latency massively.

You can also get by with air coolers on the x3D chips. I've seen plenty do it for both the 7800x3D and the 7950x3D.

As others have said... if you are pure gaming the 7800x3D is the choice. If you need more cores for other tasks... the 7950x3D.

You could also do what I did... and spend the extra $100 and get the 9950X. If you went this route I'd recommend a 360 AIO. It gets a little warmer than the x3D variants.

I agree about the 6000mhz ram and more storage. You can never have enough storage... ask me how I know... :ROFLMAO:
