So you have to buy the laptop, The price of this is what it is.
Then you have to buy a GPU, the price of this is what it is.
Then you buy the device for $500 ... and it just sits on your desk? This isn't a portable device, correct? Or am I missing something?

If the above is true, then this product has EXTREMELY narrow uses. People pointing that out is appropriate and natural. When someone poses and example that might fit the usage, the community is going to discuss the alternatives and solutions to that example with less expensive/better performing/more versatile options.
