I have windows installed on SSD, and my HDD (internal) seems to have died. Will PC work just fine if I unplug the HDD from those cables? Wont OS get confused during boot and stuck in an infinte loop of searching for the missing D drive?

The only caveat is if you had both drives connected when you installed the OS.
If that were the case, the boot partition may have ended up on the HDD.
If so, a dead or disconnected HDD would mean no boot for you.

But, as the HDD is already seemingly 'dead', that does not appear to be the case.
