Really bad perfomance in Battlefield 1

i have a gtx 1080 and i5-4460 and my fps is at 90+ but it constantly stutters and makes the game completely unplayable...

i had a much smoother expierence with my gtx 960 2gb before i upgraded back in the beta. what's going on?

At what resolution? 1080p? If 1080p you have a serious CPU bottleneck in BF1 causing big fps variances

1440p but that still wouldn't explain why it was smoother with a worse gpu

It does explain it. One of the worst things for smooth game play is big FPS variances. Before you probably had a fairly constant fps albeit much lower but now I bet its jumping up and down as the CPU load varies. Monitor your CPU usage while gaming

New driver for 1080 came out 10 hours ago that optimizes BF1 v. 375.57, try it?

Sounds like the CPU, have you tried capping the framerate?

it drops to under 15 fps all the time, it never did that before. and yes i already have newest drivers

You have a higher powered GPU, it needs information at a faster rate from the CPU.
