Recommend some good graphics card for my pc

Hello, my pc configuration is :-

Processor - core i5 4400
Ram - Kingston Hyperx Fury (Blue) ddr3 8 GB
Motherboard - Gigabyte H81
SMPS - Antec BP450PS 450w
Storage - 120 GB SSD, 500 GB External Drive (Seagate Expansion)

I currently have a Zotac Geforce GT 610 2GB Synergy Edition Graphics card. I'm looking for a SOMEWHAT BETTER (as budget is a constraint) card, as I've been told this card is not good enough.

Also, many people have suggested that my processor's graphics - Intel HD Graphics 4600 is better than the Geforce GT 610. So, instead of buying a new graphics card, could I add more Ram and use the processor's graphics? I use my pc for light gaming and working in Photoshop, 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush, etc.

If you can afford it, I would strongly reccomend any r9 380x. They are rather affordable $210-240 and a re a great sweetspot card.
