Question Recommendations for a small plumbing business server

My friend's boss is looking to get a server for his plumbing business for about 9 computers.
He is looking for

-local backup drive & cloud service backup
-the ability to send an receive files and their designs that can update in real time

Are there any preferred cloud/hybrid cloud services that best fit these needs and what kind of hardware is recommended?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

A commercial NAS (network attached storage) can fulfill the shared file storage, web file access, and cloud upload. The administration is much simpler than a traditional server. Is there any other functions that the "server" has to support?
