I'm currently still working with my Lenovo ThinkPad X220, 16gb ddr3, 500gb ssd. And to be honest i still love it to this day. my little work horse.

However i want to upgrade to something thats:

  • Small/Medium in size.
  • Decent GPU
  • Hdmi, USB C (important)
  • Preferably 32gb ram // Min 16gb
  • AMD or Intel welcome.

The use is going to be MAINLY developing in visual studio and general computing tasks.
The secondary use is going to be gaming, must be able to run most games.

Really liking the look of this baby tbh, staying with the Lenovo brand and all...you know..

Well, for not too much more you can get nearly the latest generation of CPU. AMD is weird with the CPU names so the 7535HS is actually older then the 7840HS or 8840HS (which is basically the same thing, from 2024 rather than 2023.

32GB of RAM is pretty hard to track down with that price point.

Lenovo LOQ

It was on sale for 699 at BestBuy the other day, but with only 8GB of memory and an empty slot.

Regardless, 7840HS, 7940HS 8840HS and 8940HS are the CPUs to have from AMD right now.
