[SOLVED] Recommendations Needed for a PC Build

Hey fellow members,

A little story but bear with me. So I've been thinking of getting a prebuilt from a US system integrator for quite some time. However since I am not living in the US, the prebuilt would be shipped on a very long route. Despite most providers having stellar packaging and shipping quality I sincerely have very little trust in shipping services like UPS, FedEx, DHL etc. Specially since it's a very big investment for me.

And due to the current gobal market and how it's looking it is almost impossible to get a GPU at MSRP. Which is one of the reasons why pre-builts are a good option for me atleast.

But. Since I'm so skeptical of shipping quality and since I've seen some RTX 2060 GPUs out there for a $600 price tag which is an okay amount in these unfortunate times. I've decided to go ahead and try to buy the parts from US and ship them all instead of shipping a fully assembled system.

So I want some options from you guy's on a build that is below $1000. Keep in mind that the $1000 is excluding the GPU and Peripherals. If you can, you can go lower to $900 or even $800 without losing performance/quality.

Things to keep in mind are:

1. Good airflow case (a very tropical and hot country here)
2. Ryzen 3600 or higher processor. (Intel is fine too if it's 11th Gen)
3. 16GB 3200 RAM or higher.
4. 1 TB SSD (512 is also okay)
5. AIO is preferred for cooling (again hot country)
6. 650W PSU at the lowest with Gold Rating (No Gigabyte PSUs allowed)
7. Feel free to add extra case fans if it's within budget.
8. Motherboard can be a basic board, but atleast 4 DIMM slots and 4 SATA ports. ASUS preferred. Gigabit Ethernet port (idk this might be the norm for boards these days)

Hope I haven't missed out on a crucial detail but these are the things I need to fit into the budget.

This will be mainly for 1080p gaming, maybe light streaming to Discord and I am an animator and vfx artist by profession so I will definitely be doing some of that and some graphic design as well.

Great choices overall. All looks pretty great here. I like the processor choice. But I am not a fan of air cooling. Possible to recommend a good AIO? And since you chose Seasonic, are they good? I've never had any experience with the brand personally so I'm a bit iffy on their PSUs. Thanks!

Seasonic makes the high end psu's for Corsair. They're as good as it gets. I don't use water cooling so I wouldn't be much help in that regard.

According to those parts, you would have $189 for a cooler. I could compile a fresh parts list probably using AMD, but give me a day, currently out of town. That definitely gives you enough budget for a 360 mm rad. Are there any specific AIOs you want? If not, I’ll try to find the best one closer towards $180. I highly recommend the X73 (I personally have the Z73, no issues so far, great temps and I believe they have a 6 year warranty.) or the H150i Elite Capellix (actually my second choice but I went with the Z73.)

It has to be noted that AIOs aren't really better than air coolers, and frequently they're louder. And below the top AIOs, they're frequently behind significantly less expensive air coolers. On a thousand-dollar budget, there are simply better places to spend 10-15% of the budget.

And it's a disaster because of issues with high-end GPUs.

Corsair RM650 is much better than SS Core and just a few bucks more expensive

It has to be noted that AIOs aren't really better than air coolers, and frequently they're louder. And below the top AIOs, they're frequently behind significantly less expensive air coolers. On a thousand-dollar budget, there are simply better places to spend 10-15% of the budget.

I feel like the bequiet one listed above wasn't enough for the processor. Also since the temperature where I live hangs usually around 30 degree Celsius or 85 or above in Fahrenheit. So the room will definitely be hot and if there isn't any air conditioning turned on the system would definitely get hot just at room temperature even if it is idle. Which is why I'm thinking AIO is the better route to go to keep the CPU temps low.

If you think otherwise, or if this isn't going to do me any good, let me know. Thanks.

Why would AIO be the better route? Air coolers cool very effectively. I'll admit I'm a bit out of touch with current hardware. Last time I built a PC I used a stock cooler. Haven't had much experience with other coolers except for one AIO that I installed for a friend's build. It was a 150i Capellix but it was loud af. So yeah.. maybe it's not such a good choice. I think I'll go with an air cooler. Maybe slap on some 120mm fans on the front to cool the rig.

I.ve had a ryzan 1st gen laptop for three years.... Integrated graphics... Been good to me... Even better got it on sale for 250... Sd expansion slot.... 8 gb ram with another expansion slot... LG product..

Stock vs stock, they are about the same with Intel having the advantage is some cases. Power-efficiency drops off a cliff when you remove the power limits. If you do though, the i5-11400(F) becomes performance-per-dollar value king.

Since I have a lowly GTX1050, I'm actually glad I can tell Windows to use the IGP for Firefox, Chrome, etc. to conserve GPU VRAM for things that actually need it.

Edit: BTW, Intel's Command Center is garbage: won't let me configure the UHD IGP because it only detects my GTX1050 even though the IGP is enabled using 9805 drivers (latest as of last Sunday when I realized that Windows re-installed Windows Update drivers from December 2020 for some reason) and being used by FireFox, Chrome and other stuff that I have forced Windows to run on the IGP via the Graphics Performance panel. Quite the dumb bug to have.

Really don't want to start a Blue vs. Red thread. I just want the most bang for the buck. And intel has always been good to me. As for ryzen I've had issues with ryzen's compatibility with different softwares to say the least. So I'll stick with intel. Despite them being good. Intel has been more software friendly.

I concur, the 11400 is almost everywhere on every site that builds computers. Got the most value and performance for a really good price without hurting your wallet.
