Question "Red Dead Redemption 2" Rockstar Launcher - - - Minimum Hardware Failure ?

Hi guys!

I gave up, i try to solve it by myself but i ran out of ideas.

My Rockstar Launcher games (Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA V) won't start because it said i don't have the minimum specs for it.

Info:

• System X670 Aorus Elite - 7800X3D - 32GB DDR5 - 7900XTX
• All drivers are up to date!
• BIOS updated!
• I'm already tried clean new Windows install to different drives.
• I'm already tried install Rockstar Launcher and RDR2 to different drives.
• Verify integrity of game files of course.
• I have GTA V also and it does the same thing, same error message.

If i click OK on the error message the game will start but on very low resolution and low settings, does not detect VRAM and GPU, can not change any settings in game.

If anybody have any idea i'm glad to hear.

which driver version of AMD is installed?

did you update both GPUs?

Yes, I checked like in the video, both drivers up to date.
API in the configuration is already on Vulkan.

Current C drive is a Kingston KC3000 1TB and currently 400GB free space, rockstar launcher and rdr2 installed to this drive.
I also have a Kingston NV2 4TB SSD - currently 2,5 TB free space, and a tried to install the rockstar launcher and rdr2 to this, i got the same error message.

If for some reason the system runs low on RAM the temporary RAM storage will be established on a hard drive. I.e., Page File or Virtual Memory.

For the most part Windows will manage the use of RAM and the Page File. However end users can make changes (generally not recommended).

Open Task Manager and select Performance then Memory.

Expand the screen so that all can be seen and take a screenshot.

Post the screenshot here via imgur (www.imgur.com).

My thought is that there is some file corruption involved (Windows, Game app, etc.) or that some process has taken over all available RAM and is not releasing it as it should be doing.

I had an issue with RDR2 not lanching, tried troubleshooting for a month and a suggestion as simple as rolling back to an older driver fixed the issue.

I'm running a GTX 4070 Mobile GPU. I rolled back to 531.79. No error messages, just a black screen that stayed up for a split second before crashing. Look into the latest driver was optimized for RDR2 and try that.

What motherboard slots are being used for RAM?

RAM configuration?

Take another screenshot of Task Manager to show the entire Task Manager window and in English.

I think that only one RAM is being recognized.

Read/review the entire motherboard manual. Pay close attention to "Installing the Memory" (Section 2-4).

RDR2 minimum specs are 12GB Ram so 1x16 should be fine. but agree just recheck it is all seated properly and being detected.

You say gtav does the same thing what about any other non-rockstar games? are you launching direct from rockstar launcher or is it via steam?

if ram etc is all working and you can't solve it - you could consider a dual boot into linux (something easy like PopOS or Nobara) and running rdr2 there as rdr2 runs better* (*w/AMD gpus).

The unknown being how much RAM is being used and what is using RAM.

There may be minimum of 12 GB but if (be it 16 GB or 32 GB) of RAM is being used by other apps etc. then there may not be enough RAM available. Could perhaps be corrupted in some manner.

Take another look via Resource Monitor and Procecess Explorer (Microsoft, free) to determine what is using RAM and how much RAM is being used by any given process.

Run the built in Windows troubleshooters - the troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Also try "dism" and "sfc /scannow" -

Look for unrecognized and unexpected processes that are launching and running. No immediate to disable or uninstall. Simply find them and identify their purpose.

My system, Windows, Memtest86, every other game, benchmark apps, everything see my 32gb of ram.
My specific modell: G.SKILL 32GB Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5 5600MHz CL28 KIT F5-5600J2834F16GX2-TZ5NR
I installed my modules on the correct slots.
When i took my screenshots i used default bios settings on the ram that's why it is on 4800mhz, but i used it on expo mode currently.
I ran lot of memtest86 when i build this PC, the ram is all good, ''physically".
You found the correct manual.
Of course i appreciate the help, but a little story time, i worked in IT many years, i currently worked in IT, hardware section, my biggest sadness it not a simply problem that i installed the memory modules on the wrong slot. Again, i appreciate any help, any idea, and i check everything you wrote, and thank you again!

I run it directly from rockstar launcher, it is not steam version, i "bought" it on rockstar launcher.

I am not sure that I am still on track here. The original error mentioned display driver 20.2.2 in that the game requires that display driver. Which is not necessarily the same as being up-to-date.

I am likewise not sure that the "minimum recommended Video Memory specification" and "Out of virtual memory" errors have been fully addressed.

I.e., only 12 GB of 16 GB RAM being used with 32 GB installed.

And you do not need to have problems because the memory is installed in the wrong slots. Some motherboards require that the first physically installed RAM be placed in a specific slot.

From the motherboard manual:

"When installing memory modules, be sure to install in the DDR5_A2 socket first."
