Question Redid Thermal Paste now PC won't start

Removed previous paste waste with qtips and rubbing alcohol did a pea sized dot of thermal paste put the heatsink back on struggled to put the pins through but did. Now my pc will light up so will the keyboard and mouse however it does 3 beeps and the screen says no input. I will post screenshots of needed tomorrow. Is my computer fried

I don't think so. your getting beeps which is a good thing. the beeps are the motherboard saying something is wrong, the length and number of the beeps relate to a specific problem. google three beeps with your motherboard and you should get the beep codes. beep codes are the motherboards diagnostic talking to you. one beep is all good. three means something is wrong and the motherboard is telling you what.

I didn't touch anything besides the heatsink I have GA-Z77X-D3H motherboard

I can't tell whether the beep code is

3 short beeps

Basic memory 64K address check error

1 long, 3 short

Conventional/Extended memory failure

3 basic memory error. remove and reseat the RAM while system is off of course, and try again.
if that fails try with a single stick, assuming you have more than one.

Could have bumped the ram by accident. You could try to reseat ram.
If not, clear CMOS.

Then reseat CPU.

unless you removed the RAM from its slot and inserted the RAM into another slot it should still be in the proper slot. did you remove and move the RAM?

Possibly even simpler: if you had to unplug the ATX or EPS power connector from the motherboard to unclutter the area around the CPU HSF, maybe you forgot to plug that back in.
