Repair Install Fails!

I had an F4 Stop Error earier today on my XP Pro SP2 machine. Now it's in a
continual reboot loop.

So I tried doing a repair install from the CD. It lists my partitions, but
says the main partition is empty and unknown!!!

If you select it, then it asks you to format it! Which is NOT what I want
to do.

If you reboot it, it goes back into it's reboot loop so the disk is clearly
not unknown or empty.

What is going on? Why can't I repair install?

Try doing a chkdsk /r from the recovery console after booting from the disc.
Or boot to your startup menu and try the Last Known Good Configuration.

Chkdsk /r in the Recovery Console worked great. It now boot fine
