replace network card in belkin pre-n desktop adapter

I have two belkin pre-n f5d8000 "desktop" cards. They're actually notebook cards with desktop pci adapters. Anyone here know if I can get newer 802.11n notebook cards and reuse the adapters (at full 802.11n capacity)?
