replace the stock 128GB SSD in my Dell G3 laptop

Solution
I am going to confidently assume that the laptop only has one 2.5" drive bay. If you want to put your z400s in, you will need to take out the 1TB sata ssd. The only way to keep your 1TB HDD is to get a different SSD all together, one that is an M.2.

and NO, there does not exist an to go from 2.5" SATA to m.2 or mSATA. adapters exist to go the opposite way, assuming the sdd in question is not a PCIe ssd.

probably yes... Is your laptop config an SSD + HDD combo? or is the SSD the only drive in the laptop?

If the case is the latter, it is most likely that the SSD is an mSATA or M.2 form factor.

I googled real quick and this laptop is pretty new right?

Yes, it was purchased at the end of August 2018. It has a 128 GB SSD as the boot and a 1 TB SATA as a data drive. I already have the Z400s which is a 256Gig SSD with a SATA interface. I guess I need some kind of adapter if such a thing exists.
