I need a replacement and i was offered this...

Dell 9200

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6600 Processor (2.4GHz, 1066MHz, 4MB)
2048MB Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz [2x1024] Memory
320GB Serial ATA RAID 0 Stripe [2x160GB 7200rpm]
256MB nVidia® GeForce® 7900GS graphics card
Creative X-Fi Soundcard
16x DVD +/- RW & 16x IDE DVD ROM Drive

Well is it worth it?

I had a 3.4mhz p4 processor, is the new one better as it is dual core?
What about the graphics card? i had a x850xt before, i think this one is better but i cannot find a detailed report of it.

Thanks

That system is very nice though most people here would tell you to save yourself the hassle of Dell and just build your own. My recommendation is that if you don't know all that much about computers, you should stick to buying pre-built like the Dell you listed.

The core 2 will be significantly better than your old P4 and the 7900 gs is overall a better card than the X850. The downside is with DX10 coming out, you may need to upgrade the 7900 in a year or so. But if you are being offered a decent price and need a computer, I would say go for it.
Post back with what you decide to do.
