I thought motorola paid george lucas a bunch of money so they could use the term "droid", and that they would be the only manufacturer selling phones branded as "droids". I've always hated when people would refer to any android smartphone as a "droid".

That being said, 1080p on a 5" screen might be overkill, but im really excited to see it in person.

[citation][nom]wannabepro[/nom]I just wish some of these phones would be released for virgin mobile..[/citation]

Isnt virgin CDMA, which would mean these would work?

Why are you using virgin anyway?

Yeah, it's CDMA; however, Virgin Mobile will only let you use the phones listed on their website.
I use it because it's non-contract, unlimited data (Full speed up to 2.5 GB), and unlimited text.
It costs $35 a month.
Only get 300 minutes of calling though. And service isn't that great. Uses the Sprint Network.

Verizon has the best coverage in my area, T-Mobile and AT&T's networks are kinda sketchy. About the same as Sprint's.

Have you checked out straight talk yet? I know you said ATT's network sucks where you are, but if you only need better service at your house, you can always get a microcell, and have someone you know with ATT just add it to their account (no cost or hassle to them at all except the initial add)

Then youll have have a MUCH better selection of phones to choose from, and the nexus 4 just came out for only $300-350

Verizon...not Motorola

[citation][nom]johnsmithhatesVLC[/nom]Games are going to really lag for the first generation of 1080p phones.[/citation]

Doubtful. I've got an SIII and with its 720 res screen it doesn't studder at all. With the improved graphics of the S4 pro (the adreno 320) it should play android games just fine. Even the most graphics heavy games on android/ios are easy to run by pc standards. Let's face it, it's going to be a good amount of years before phone games catch up to true console games and not just the arcade games for systems.

Just get it outright..? I'm with Virgin Mobile and using a Galaxy Nexus and Note 10.1

[citation][nom]denis corbett[/nom]you make $27h...good for you! I make up to $85h working from home. My story is that I quit working at shoprite to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $45h to $85h…heres a good example of what i'm doing, nyan.cat[/citation]
Oh, so now is she shoplifting?

Verizon licensed the word "Droid" not Motorola, that is why their top phones have all been Droids and have been from different makers (mostly HTC and motorola).

I think this pixel density might be too high; Wouldn't a bigger screen at that resolution be preferable? Also, do all the main internet video providers supply 1080p video yet?

I'm sure a 440ppi screen will do me a lot of good when the human eye can't distinguish above around 300ppi.

I guess this will be the next race in the handheld device market, who can cram in the most unnecessary screen.

I thought you couldn't do that. Did you have to do anything to use other phones with Virgin Mobile? I'd looked around on some forums and thought you couldn't use other phones.

I'm currently using the HTC EVO V. It's pretty good, It would be nice if I could have some more selection though.
Straight talk is $10 more, and worse coverage.
