Reset motherboard asus P5N-E

Hello,
I have a mesh computer with an ASUS P5N-E SLI. there was a power spike last night and since then my computer will only go onto the first screen with after beep. i reset the BIOS as someone had instructed but will still only go to first screen now with the asus logo and board type. what can i do is it the motherboard or the hard drive? please help

PC unplugged from the wall socket, remove battery on the motherboard, press power button on the case several times to fully discharge capacitors, wait for ten minutes and re-install battery. Now you can try starting your computer.

Next time, do not forget to use a good surge protector.
