I have acquired a eMachine eMonster 550 from an estate sale. I like to pretend my 90s knowledge is superb but it's actually severely lacking. I know the machine has 128 MB of RAM, a Pentium 3, a 15 GB HDD, and a Nvidia Vanta. My goal is just to play games made from the 1993-1999 time period. I'm pretty sure the RAM, CPU, and HDD won't be a problem. I'm just not sure about the Nvidia Vanta. I tried just doing a search of "Nvidia Vanta review" and the entries I went through were comparing it to modern gaming and telling me the obvious that it can't play modern games and that it was made in 2000. Is that too strong? Is that just right? Any help would be appreciated.

Nvidia Vanta was a popular and good GPU at that time, I had few, games like Doom 1 were not a problem.

Not to be pedantic but,
retro=looks like old but is new
vintage=made in the year of its vintage.

Also get an ide to sd adapter, a 20+ year old 15Gb hard drive is going to be terrible and may not last for long, also it's much easier to transfer files if you have a card reader on your main system.

Thank you for telling me the difference. I'll.make sure to distinguish between the two in the future. Also I appreciate showing me the ide to sd adapter. I'm going to get one of those to replace the HDD.
