i upgraded my pc and i had aio 360 rgb with nxzt rgb controller and 3 case fans on front with rgb controller and 1 case fan on back. i connected all 3 aio fans and front rgb fans to 2 rgb controllers and there wasnt room for the last single fan and i put it into rgb header slot nothing happened so after week i bought one more nzxt rgb controller and now that back fan doesnt light up even with rgb controller but it spins. so did the rgb header break my one fan lights? and could it done more damage somewhere else? (sorry for bad english)

RGB & aRGB are 2 different things.
if you plugged one into the other it will damage the device.

include the specific fan make & model,
motherboard make & model,
and which specific LED header you plugged the fan into.

Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F GAMING WIFI II

NZXT F120 RGB Core

i plug that f120 nzxt fan into the 4 pin RGB header (it says +12 grp rbg header)

The NZXT F120 Core fans are spec'd as ARGB. That means they MUST be connected to a header with THREE pins (looks like it had 4 but one is missing). The plug on the end of the fan's lighting cable has THREE holes in it, not four. Yet OP says he has connected it to the 4-pin mobo RGB header! That takes some effort! And IF that was done, it burned out the lights in the fan so they will never work. The fan MOTOR is not affected, and the mobo 4-pin RGB lighting header should not have been damaged.

It appears NZXT F120 Core fans have proprietary RGB connectors.
Fan RGB cable can be connected to NZXT RGB controller.
Controller comes with NZXT F120 Core twin pack or triple pack.

You can not connect it to motherboard directly.

I believe SkyNetRising is correct. I found the NZXT web pages confusing. ONE reply to a user query said. "These fans would be compatible with most modern 5v RGB headers on the motherboard and would not require a controller or an adapter as this does not have a proprietary connector." Yet the MANUAL for the fan three-pack shows clearly that the lighting cable connector has a NON-standard 4-hole connector on its end to fit the ports of the NZXT Controller. That might partly explain how OP was able to fit that onto a mobo plain RGB 4-pin male header.
