hey all,
i've been reading for hours and i came up against a brick wall with this rgb fan problem i'm having...
So, i bought a new computer from a friend that had 3 front rgb fans and one rear. There is an LED button on the top (it is a Rosewill D100 case, btw). When he had it, the rgb was working fine.
When i got it there was a cpu heating error and i discovered that whoever installed the cpu heatsink forgot to take off the "please remove this sticker" label before applying the thermal paste - LOL - anyway, fixed that problem and it is running fine. But when I first got it and before i got the overheating error, i did a full wipe and reinstall of windows 10.
now the rgb button does nothign to the lights. the fans work but they just stay blue all the time. i have touched nothing but the cpu heatsink. after hours trying to figure it out, I am at a loss. the fans are 4pin connectors, and i looked up a lot of stuff about that and the different motherboard headers. my motherboard is a Sabertooth x79. from the manual, it seems i dont have rgb headers so i thought the rgb was somehow controlled by the case... but i looked at the case manual and there is nothing there about connecting anything special to enable the rgb components.
i've tried downloading the Asus Aura app thing, but it didn't detect anything (which seems normal since the motherboard doesnt seem to be built with that feature).
anyway... if anyone knows what could be wrong i would greatly appreciate the help! i have zero experience with these fancy lights!
thanks!
