I played WoW since it started, after beta. Vanilla still can't be beat. I left a year ago after running a great guild since Vanilla. Vanilla came with camaraderie, adventure, L2P, and long term FUN. Now since BC, its all about how much money Blizzard can make. The new changes make it super sucky for anyone that invested so much time in Vanilla, PvP titles, Raids, etc. Now the 12 year olds then are 17yo now. They look forward to the quick "it's mine, all mine" get it and go play style. You no longer have to know how to play your 10 toons and if you suck just change factions or servers. As a Horde, I would NEVER go alliance and I'm sure it was much the same for many others.
I'm super happy you all explained that Rift was a copy of WoW and that true WoW'rs would really hate it after 6 months. I actually looked to play but have now changed my mind. Its hard to convince Blizzard that Vanilla was awesome and phasing sucks when they make money hand over fist now with server transfers, toon dressups, etc. I won't go back to play WoW seriously, but look forward to ANY new MMO taking it's place. And btw wtf is that World of Warcraft movie. THAT I would pay to see if done right.
