I don't think Mobile A64 will have to much of a problem handling that having seemngly supprior Power/Preformance ratio. the mobile segment is one that Athlon 64 really hellps AMD, more then the desktop one.

hum...
but I'm still kinda worry about A64 being hot and stuff...
the main reason why the mobile athlonXP didn't work now is becoz of the heat..and that extra work the designer has to put in to make sure it doesn't burn up....
I mean the mobile AXP is dirt cheap compair with P4M...and it still pack a punch...
so.... let just hope AMD has some gd plan quick to fight off intel with it's HT @ 4Q this year....

Well that wont be a problem with A64. sence the northbridge, the part of the chipset that determne preofrmance is on the cpu itself.

Remember Athlon64 is using SOI....when people were reviewing early samples of 'Hammer' running at 1.4 and 1.6Ghz they described them as 'warm to touch' so I reckon they run cooler than Athlon XP's.

Ladies and Gentlemen, its...Hammer Time !

plus they have heatspreaders at last...
so no more intel zealots and ham fisted noobs complaining about crushed cores

Oh they definitely do. Someone had posted temp figures in the past for the 1.4GHZ version, it was on the lines of Northwoods, significantly better.

hum...
let just cross our finger...and see how the mobile A64 could ditch out...
(intel does have a complete line up @ mobile line thou..)

I don't even foresee P4s anymore in the mobile sectors anyway. The Centrino is the one supposed to be the mobile CPU from now on, and as 0.09m improves, Intel can up the clock and IPC to P4M levels and more. I doubt anymore P4Ms under the Prescott core will be manufactured. I could be wrong though.
