[SOLVED] Rode Podmic EQ

So I don't have the money for something fancy like a goxlr, or a Yamaha mixer or anything like that at the moment, I found software called Peace equalizer, and equalizer APO.
The problem I'm having with it is I don't fully understand it and audio is kind of not my thing. but i want to make this mic sound just a bit better.

For some reason the peak value meter is showing my desktop audio like YouTube videos and such, but itss supposed to reflect my mic audio input.
Anybody know how to give me a hand here and a simple tutorial that a noobie could follow along with? I don't know much about audio and whatnot.
