I need to open some ports on my router but when I go to the login screen by typing the xxx.xxx.x.x numbers it gives me a warning saying that https://xxx.xxx.x.x is blocked and could be fraudulent. I have never seen this before. It does it on all my computers and mobile devices. I am pulling the IP Address from the ipconfig command. I grab the default gateway under wireless lan adapter wifi. what gives? is it safe to access this or not?

Solution
yeah it is one of those you listed. So it is safe then, correct
If it is a 192.168.x.y, then it is a local address. There should be no risk. You might be getting that warning because the router has a self-signed security certificate. That could be considered "fake" by some firewalls. It is OK in this case.

ok. thanks. Just wanted to make sure that it was safe. I thought I typed it in wrong the first time so I copied and pasted it right of ipconfig page and it popped up still. I will go ahead then. thanks
