Hey guys,
Still having network issues but figure it might be time to upgrade my router. I'm sitting here scratching my head at all the routers that are out there right now. It really is insane. I'm looking for something fairly reliable, and somewhat future proof, but it doesn't have to be top of the line. I'm looking to spend between $25-50 for something, and my priorities are:
Reliability - Mandatory
802.11 N - Important
Range - The more the better. Router will be in basement, would like it to get upstairs and the end of the house (it's a smaller house, my D-Link WBR-1310 is almost enough for outside to give you an idea)
DD-WRT Able - Big Plus, not needed
Gigabit LAN/WAN - Big plus but also not needed (I'm on Time Warner Cable, don't think i'll be seeing 1000Mbps )
I was thinking of at least a 300Mbps just for some future proofing, and N for the same reason. I was looking at the Cisco Valet Plus for $28 and the Linksys EA2700 for $40 at the linksys store. The 2700 is a pretty decent one it seems. I don't mind buying refurbished or other brands though.
Thanks a ton guys!
