Question Rtx 3060 or i5-12400?

Hi! I want to upgrade my pc. I bought my pc in 2018. My build is: i5 8400 and 1070ti with 16gb. My question today is if is worth upgrade my pc with one of this components: change gpu or cpu. In my country (Spain) I find the graphics card and the processor for the same price, taking into account that I would have to change the motherboard if I choose to change the processor. I use my pc mostly for gaming.
If i choose rtx 3060, Can the i5 8400 run good with that gpu without bottleneck? I want to change both component but i just have money for one.

Personally think I would consider the platform upgrade before the GPU in your case.
A 3060 isn't a lot faster than the 1070ti, but the 12th gen CPU is significantly improved over the 8th gen.

I agree. Plus you have the fact that the 3000 series are the outgoing generation and the 3060 is towards the bottom so it might be in a few months you get a deal on a faster card or they release a 4060.
