Hey everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. I'm facing a bit of a technical puzzle and was hoping to tap into the collective knowledge here for some insights.
Lately, I've been noticing these strange artifacts appearing on my screen from time to time, especially when I'm watching YouTube videos. It's gotten quite bothersome, so I've been trying to figure out the root cause. After some digging, it seems like the GPU might be the culprit, but I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this.
To give you a better idea of what I'm dealing with, I've tried to take slowmo videos of my screen to get the artifacst: View: https://imgur.com/a/Ptdatc0
Now, before jumping to conclusions, I've taken some steps to troubleshoot:
If you've got any insights, suggestions, or ideas on what might be causing these artifacts, please chime in. And if all else fails, do you think it's worth considering an RMA for the GPU? Fortunately, it's still under warranty.
Thanks a million for taking the time to read through this and for any help you can offer.
Best regards,
Nicolas

Now, before jumping to conclusions, I've taken some steps to troubleshoot:
- I experimented with six different DisplayPort cables, ranging from version 1.2 to 2.0, and each time, those pesky artifacts made an appearance. I also switched up the DP slots on the GPU for each cable swap.
- In an attempt to eliminate any driver issues, I used DDU to wipe the GPU drivers clean. Unfortunately, no luck. As a last resort, I even did a clean install of Windows, just to be certain it's not a software problem.
- I tried using the integrated GPU on my CPU by connecting my monitor to the motherboard port. Surprisingly, the artifacts disappeared, although video decoding was still happening on the EVGA GPU.
- To rule out monitor-related issues, I set up a dual monitor arrangement. My second monitor was connected to the GPU, while the main monitor used the integrated GPU. Strangely enough, the artifacts popped up on the second monitor, connected to the EVGA GPU.
If you've got any insights, suggestions, or ideas on what might be causing these artifacts, please chime in. And if all else fails, do you think it's worth considering an RMA for the GPU? Fortunately, it's still under warranty.
