As we're not disagreeing on fundamentals in the other points, allow me to address...
I just fully caught up on the thread after replying to you and ilukey77 both. I saw how many posts I had to upvote of yours mostly in regards to open standards but there were a few other points made I was affirming as well. Sad its so hard for some people to see the advantages of something so obviously good for consumers.

Where I was going with it is this is what I like about your posts in retort/agreement. You really do try to be fair and while Tom's is one of the best sites for this, I personally find you embody that mentality well. Its nice to see and as always its a pleasure to debate, agree/disagree and chatter on with you in the forums. At the end of the day its users like you that keep me coming back.

Not totally unfair but my personal preference is DLSS. I have seen both FSR 1/2 and DLSS 1/2/3 (1 was horrid blurry your not wrong)...and generally speaking DLSS is a better experience for myself. But I admit I am EXTREMELY nitpicky about my image quality. I am very sensitive to clarity and aliasing in particular.
DLSS is a great technology, but conversely I suppose, I've often looked at side-by-side screenshots and felt like I've been suddenly afflicted by cataracts when looking at DLSS images.

That said, in many games, anti-aliasing is horribly implemented, and I always appreciate attempts to fix that!

While I applaud AMDs copious VRAM as it is needed (Listening Nvidia?) lets get real here on performance. The 6000 series was the first time AMD caught up to Nvidia in generations on the high end only to lose that race again the next generation. The time prior AMD was 'competitive' on the high end was three generations ago with the R 390 vs GTX 980 (being kind as it was well behind the GTX 980 TI). Vega couldn't keep up with the 1080 Ti but did due a better ish job, Polaris was mid range only and the 5700 series didn't come close to Nvidia's high end RTX 2080 Ti. So NO AMD was close last gen but with their current track record the last handful of generations, that is the exception not the rule. The RX 7900 XTX proved as much.
the 7900xtx is AMD 50% caught with there pants down 25% scared and 25% im going to say smart but also stupid ..
If AMD had stayed with a monolithic die like Nvidia they would have been a better competitor with the 4090 and most likely crushed ( maybe even in RT ) everything else Nvidia bought out more so than just beating them in some things ..
pants down was i think the 4090 left fielded them and they couldnt answer and which kinda ties in with the smart..
MCM i believe is the future and a good argument can be made instead of sticking with tried and true architecture by moving to MCM they have given themselves a head start on the MCM chiplet architecture at the cost of burning themselves ..

That said to compete with the likes of the 4080 4070 with a new architecture the way they have is pretty damn impressive really

scared was maybe the price after the pandemic AMD was scared to go to big because $1600 for the 4090 could have been a big fail a gamble that really did pay off for Nvidia !!

Take the 3d v cache CPU's ask yourself this how long before Intel start doing the same thing because while the 13900k is in my honest opinion the best overall cpu you can buy ( i just hate Intels socket life span hence why i stay with AMD ) once AMD can sort the 8950x3d double stacking v cache , efficiency and out right raw compute power Intel will be gone !!
3d vcache is the future !!

It is based on eye sight monitor /TV
DLSS said to be the better system and i have not got a Nvidia GPU to argue that fact but the same can be said about FSR or about 200fps VS 60fps screen tearing ETC ETC its all subjective based on the persons sight and equipment ..

I use my PC with a older 55inch sony bravia ( xg 900 or something ) TV simply because i have no interest in a smaller monitor to play my games so its refresh rate is only 60hz and its not a oled ( would love a 55ich LG oled C1 ) but money talks !!

Ive listened to really expensive stereo systems with $2000 speakers switched to $200 speakers and they sounded better to me !!

I just wish I had better luck playing with AMD's toys. Over the past few years, I've tried an RX 590, 5700 xt, and 6600 xt but kept having nagging black screen issues that I couldn't get rid of and sometimes had nothing but black screen at boot up after the BIOS screen. Not about to say Nvidia's drivers are all that much more rock solid than AMD's, but most of the Nvidia issues I've run into over the past decade had been mostly in the form of stutters or general performance issues. Those black screens just keep me from buying more AMD cards even when they're a better value overall.

I've said it before - as someone who bought their first AMD card ever (always had Nvidia since the days following 3dfx), and started getting black screen issues from the day I installed it.

It came down to the Displayport cable. The one I'd been using with my 2080 for so long does the black screen thing; bought a VESA certified cable and haven't seen a black screen since. Plug the previous one back in - black screen... etc.

OMG this was solved years ago. Turn off most of the unnecessary settings in the radeon graphics tab eg enhanced sync, boost and anti-lag, haven't had issues since the rx580/5700xt/6700xt/7900xt across all the rigs in a house of gamers for years!

You can afford a 7900xtx but not a new TV? LOL!
