Hi all,
when I choose Run from the Start menu, and type in "regedit" ( without the
quotes ) I get the following pop-up message:

pop-up from 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem

windows\system32\regedit.cmd
windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the
application

options are: Close / Ignore , any results in window closing.

Now if I type in regedit.exe - it works.
ditto cmd -need to type cmd.exe otherwise it tries to run cmd.com, and gives
me the pop-up.

I've been through the registry, and changed all the COMMAND PROCESSOR /
ENABLEEXTENSIONS to 0x0 and 0x1 makes no diff.

any ideas to get back to not having to type extensions ??

Thanx

Hi,

Delete regedit.com, there is no such file in a normal system.
