Running 2666 Mhz and 2800 Mhz

Hello,

I was given 2 x 4GB DDR4-2800 G.Skill Trident Z RAM sticks and I currently have 2 x 8GB DDR4-2666 Crucial Ballistix Sport RAM sticks installed. I would like to add the G.Skill ones into the extra two available slots to give me a total of 24GB RAM. My question is, with them being two different Mhz, will this affect anything?

They may not work together (be unstable), and if they do they will probably run at the speed of the slower kit.

What do you use this PC for? 16 GB is already plenty for the vast majority of people.

Just regular usage and some gaming.

EDIT: I just checked my RAM from NewEgg and it says Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Single DDR4 2666 but I have 2 sticks. Sorry..

FYI you're not going to see any benefit from 24 GB vs 16 GB.

What cpu and motherboard do you have? Can you download cpu-z and post a screenshot of the Memory tab?
