When I try to launch Internet Explorer, I get the following error message pop
up: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library:
Runtime error: Program:C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information".

IE won't launch. Any suggestions what I do to fix this?

I actually found that if I disabled Google Toolbar in IE the problem goes away.

That is where the problem is. Third Party Browser extensions.

I am experiencing the issue when I launch IE in a 2003 Server, not on the
server itself, but when loggin on as a client user. Could it be that with
Win 2k3 Servers enhanced security feature is seeing GOOGLE toolbar as threat,
which in this case is generating a Runtime Error where IE wont even open?

I have a brand new built server; client users have not logged in yet.
TESTING PHASe; Spyware/malware out of the question; Checked Java VM/MS VM
conflicts; and the only third party browser is GOOGLE Tool bar. I have
Uninstalled it; Reinstalled and reconfigured options to only pop-blocker;
disabled all features in the options menu; but it seems just the installation
of google toolbar is where the problem is.

ANyone have experience with this before? Or knowledge on the possibility
with 2003?
I can possibly look into another toolbar pop-up blocker; any recommendations?
But I would much rather get some insight if anyone has experienced and
resolved this.

Yep. I've uninstalled the toolbar and the problem has gone. However,
the problem only first appeared at the end of July this year and only
in my user profile (as admin on a three user XP home PC. I found that a
sys restore cured it - right until today, when it didn't. Hence my
search and discovery of this forum. As a heavy user of the toolbar I'm
going to miss it until someone recognises and fixes the bug.
Anyone out there able to tell me why this is happening and whether it
is in process of investigation please?

Initiating a silent install of the toolbar, for each user, has resolved the
problem.
Created a shortcut on the server, within the start menu called "Reset IE"
this way the user can initiate if this becomes a problem.

"Byte's" suggestion was of no use. But the fact of throwing out the "Google
ToolBar" proved successful. So, thank you for the hint.
