RX 480 4gb vs gtx 1060 3gb

^ the links you posted are opinions.
By numbers, the GTX 1060 3GB is faster than RX 480 (4 or 8 GB) (average across some 25 games).
It consumes less power and overclocks better. Ooh and in many cases cost less than non reference RX 480.
So please, facts, not fanboys opinions

first of all i am nvidia fanboy...no rash comments needed...
secondly, gaming is not the only performance benchmark which has to be filtered from thy psyche...

secondly the facts are all over the web...u can google urself...the reference chip for the 8gb has not been altered for the 480, unlike the 1060...that is beside the fact that its more dx12 future proof...

however the fact that it runs hotter and needs more power is something that cannot be denied...

^ out of that DX12 list, only two games (deus and hitman) run clearly faster on RX 480. They behave the same on DX11 since they are sponsored by AMD.
on the other hand, rise of tomb rider, quantum break run clearly faster on GTX 1060.
So the DX12 advantage of AMD is kinda urban legend.
It will be like with any other API - some games will favor one vendor, others will favor another. Considering deep nvidia pockets and larger marketshare, guess there will be more nvidia optimized games.

Good points.

Windows 10 and DX12 are the future of PC gaming.

agreed, but the 3gb vram actually limits some games where the extra 1 gb can help preventing stuttering...
also games are becoming more and more demanding where that 4gb makes a stronger case...

but overall, theres not a drastic difference...rather it wud be a smarter choice to choose the cheaper card...

^ and here I agree - the cheapest non reference card would be the best :)
BTW, I don't think (might be wrong) that there is a game that will require more than 3GB for 1080p. BTW, going one step below highest texture settings will probably solve that thing when it appears. On ultra settings, games tend to load ultra high quality textures and frankly, I don't see the difference between the highest and the one before highest graphics settings.
Well I can probably find them if i look for them, but not during gameplay.
