My ryzen 2600 is oc at 4ghz in 1.35v, it runs without problem more than 1 hour on occt.
When my cpu does nothing and I am on the desk the temperature of the cpu goes up by 10c every 10 to 30 seconds (45-50c and then it goes down to 38 and it goes up by 10c each time).
In game it is stable I am at 55-60c and on occt I reached 78c
I want to know if this is normal?
If not what is the solution?

Hi you two. I just want to tell you that what you're seeing is totally normal. When you idle some of the cores will go to sleep and when they wake up the temperature will spike like that.

It's just how Ryzen CPU works. If the temperature is 60C in games that's very good. Do not worry about the temp spikes.

If you two are annoyed by the CPU fan speed revving because of the spikes the solution is quite simple. Look at the temperature it goes when it spikes and go to your BIOS and change the fan curve so that the CPU fan does not start revving faster until it goes higher than the temperature you see with the spikes.

On my 3900X the Idle temp is 33C and I see the CPU temp spike to 55C or a bit higher just by idling in Windows and...

I'm having the same issues with my Ryzen 3600. OC @ 4Ghz and 1.35V. Right from start up, idle or load. Its bouncing 10 degrees every 10 seconds and revving the fans.

Thanks guys, I went and manually adjusted my fan profiles to be less aggressive around the temp range it was jumping and it has calmed down. Appreciate the insight as to why as well. Thanks again.
