Hello, I am planning to build a pc for my mom, because her laptop doesn't do the job anymore. My mother is on a tight budget, but wants good performance and wants to do at least 3 years with the pc. She isn't planning to game, so no gpu is needed. The Ryzen 5 3400g is slightly better than the Ryzen 3 3200g. But the price here in the Netherlands is a huge difference. The 3400g costs 139 euro and the 3200g 89 euro. Is it worth the extra money? And do you have any other options? Maybe wait until the 4000th gen comes out? Thanks!

Solution
What will be the main use of the PC?, What kind of programs does your mother use?

For usual office apps, web browsing and stuff the Ryzen 3 3200G should be enough.

Also you have other options today like the Core i3 10100, maybe a bit cheaper than the 3400G, add in a budget B460, or even a cheaper H410 mobo + some dual stick kit of DDR4 2666 RAm, and Im guessing it will perform better than the 3400G.

Thanks for the tips! My mom will be using the pc for internet and indeed office like apps. No heavy gaming. I'll think ill stick with am4 because its more future proof in my opinion. Intel changes there sockets pretty often and amd don't. I also think the Ryzen 3 3200G is the best option. Again, thanks for the help RodroX
