Ryzen 7 2700x at 80c when gaming

Idle is normally 60 or so, which seems alarming for any CPU. I am not overclocking or using any other cooler just the stock one. So any reason why this is happening?

What are you using to monitor temps? Software other than RyzenMaster is known to get temps of some Ryzen chips completely wrong.

Assuming you're using Ryzen Master - please post your full system spec, including case & airflow.

How's the airflow in your case? Number of case fans?

I'd remount the cooler. It seems to me there is a problem with heat transferrance if your idle temps are that high. I don't know your experience level, but there are many videos on youtube showing thermal paste application and how to mount the Ryzen cooler.
